Ana Castillo

Ana Castillo, who lives in Chicago with her son Marcel, is one of the most talked about Chicana writers today.  Her novel Mixquiahuala Letters won an American Book Award.  She has also been recognized with the Carl Sandburg Award.  Her new novel Peel My Love like an Onion, her fourth novel and seventh book, tells the story of Carmen “La Coja” Santos, who despite her crippled leg dances flamenco.
