Restaurant Name: Dailoc Vietnamese Restaurant (Route 66 by Enterprise Rd crossing)
Restaurant Rating: 6 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: It's always great to have a different kind of food here in Flagstaff.  This is our only Vietnamese Restaurant, and the food is really good.  I enjoyed all of my meal.  The service was just okay and the location is not really good. So many restaurants have failed in that space that my thoughts are that they aren't going to make it either.  And, the building is sort of run-down and old.  They did serve a good meal though.  Each dish was really tasty in a unique way...  We ended up getting their assorted appetizers and three dishes for my wife and I, thinking it'd be too much food, but wanting to try a wide variety.  The food didn't disappoint.  The size of the dishes did though...  Typically at Chinese or Thai food if I ordered that much I'd be taking home a few cartons full of food, but the two of us finished everything but a tiny bit of rice.  So, if you are the "hungry man" you'll need to order more than one dish to satisfy you.  In conclusion, the food was really tasty and well worth trying.

Restaurant Name: Swaddee Thai (Aspen St downtown)
Restaurant Rating: 3 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: I'm a big lover of Thai food, but this place didn't hit it for me.  I don't like things too spicy... I don't mind a good bit of spice, but I like to taste my meal.  We said "mild" but it was way too hot and I didn't enjoy it all.  The taste didn't do it for me either (above and beyond the heat).  I would recommend you go to Dara Thai south of the tracks or Pato Thai a block away...

Restaurant Name: Bangkok Cafe (on Fourth Street)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: Really, really good.  I've eaten there a few times now and I have yet to have a bad dish.  Their jalapeno hummus is amazing on the appetizer menu.  I guess the only thing that gets me is that there is never ever anyone else in the restaurant when I go.  It does make me feel a little uncomfortable being the only table in the place.  I'm thinking they won't last long if people don't start eating there.  So, everyone out there should give them a try.  It's really good.

Restaurant Name: Sakura (in the Radisson Hotel)
Restaurant Rating: 7 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: I like it!  I've been there a few times and sometime the "show" is really good and sometimes it's just okay.  It is a bit expensive for what you get food-wise, but having it cooked right in front of you with flames everywhere and knives flashing is kinda cool.  I've been to some places elsewhere like this that had a bit more "flash", but for Flagstaff this is a different experience.  They have sushi too, but that's not really my thing so I can't comment.

Restaurant Name: Pato Thai (San Francisco Downtown)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: I very much enjoyed my meal.  The food was a bit different, but very good.  The place was packed which says something right away.  I'm not sold on the atmosphere within the Monte Vista hotel, and dislike that the bathrooms are a mile away through the hotel.  But, the restaurant itself is very good.  I think Dara Thai is still my favorite, but this one is a close second.

Restaurant Name: Lu Mandarin Buffet (US 66 and Milton)
Restaurant Rating: 6 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: Probably the best Chinese buffet in town.  They have a wide variety of food including a salad bar and also a build-your-own noodle bar which has different meats, veggies, and sauces that they then cook right in front of you.  I will say that their table service really isn't very good which is why I gave it a 6 rating instead of higher.  The food is decent though!

Restaurant Name: Delhi Palace (Walmart Shopping Center)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: Really good Indian Food.  If you've never tried Saag, you have really missed an experience.  The food is consistently good, although the service can be a little slow.  They also have a very good lunch buffet too!

Restaurant Name: Little Thai Kitchen (Milton Street)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: liamking
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: The soup we tried had an interesting flavor, but it was a bit salty; don't be tempted to try the evil prince dish... because of the name only, but if you do pick it, you'll find it a good curry; the portions are a bit small and the rice serving is even smaller.

Restaurant Name: Himalayan Grill (801 Milton Street)
Restaurant Rating: 10 (10 being the highest)
Name: RJ Cummings
E-Mail: home@rjcummings.com
Comments: A wonderful sampling of cuisine from India, Nepal and Tibet is now available in Flagstaff. While the lunch buffet at the Himalayan Grill is very good, I go there for the delicious entrees. The Indian curry dishes are gourmet quality. I have eaten a lot of curry in London, New York, and San Francisco, and the entrees here match up nicely. My favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma, Tandoori Fish Kabob, and Lamb Masala. Each dish at dinner time is made fresh, so don't expect fast food. Enjoy some Himalayan naan made with raisins and honey, or vegetable samosas with a cold Flying Horse lager. The staff is very personable, and works hard to provide an exceptional dining experience. I have eaten there 30 times since they opened in June, and have always had a delightful meal. Whether I order medium spicy or very spicy, the taste is superb. Any of these dishes paired with Vegetable Biryani rice and Mango Chutney will be memorable.

Restaurant Name: Hunan West (across from Safeway)
Restaurant Rating: 10 (10 being the highest)
Name: Kelly
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: My husband and I have been going to Hunan for about 10 years now. We are loyal customers because of their wonderful food and excellent service. The place is family owned and the owners are very nice people, interested in providing high quality at a low cost. (The lunch specials are the best!)

Restaurant Name: Mandarin Buffet (Rt 66 and Milton)
Restaurant Rating: 7 (10 being the highest)
Name: Allison

Comments: In our opinion, this is the best Chinese in Flagstaff. The owners are friendly, and the food is good (typical Chinese buffet). However, the servers are not the best.

Restaurant Name: Delhi Palace (Walmart Shopping Center)
Restaurant Rating: 10 (10 being the highest)

Comments: I agree with the glowing reviews below. Best Indian food I've found in Arizona.

Restaurant Name: Szechuan Restaurant (Milton Road)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: Willy
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: My current favorite Flag Chinese buffet, superceding my previous favorite, China Star. I stopped going here a few years ago after the lady at the counter shortchanged me twice, but I tried it again about a month ago and have gone back several times since. No further problems at the cashier's , and they have some nice buffet items, like their special fish, beancurd, and Chinese eggplant.

Restaurant Name: Hiro Sushi
Restaurant Rating: 9 (10 being the highest)
Name: LikesGoodFood
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: We ate at Hiro's Sushi in February 2004 and we loved it. I couldn't believe that a sushi restaurant far from the coast could have such fresh fish. We were definitely pleased with the quality of the food. The only reason I gave the restaurant a review of 9 was because it was crowded with other customers who obviously liked the food as much as we did. We definitely intend on eating at Hiro's again when we come back to Flagstaff. In fact we're looking forward to it.

Restaurant Name: Hot Wok Express (Basha's Shopping Center on Ft Valley)
Restaurant Rating: 2 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: I'm not impressed.  This is that psuedo-takeout, psuedo-sitdown type of Chinese food.  I've actually tried the place twice trying to convince myself that it's worth it because of the location to get a quick meal on the north end of town.   But, I think it's worth taking the drive to avoid this one.

Restaurant Name: Dara Thai
Restaurant Rating: 9 (10 being the highest)
Name: Mel
E-Mail: OptionalEmail@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: We have tried several Chinese restaurants in town, looking for the quality we had in the northeast before we moved here. None of them so far measured up. But the Dara Thai food was excellent and we are glad to have found an oriental home away from home!

Restaurant Name: Delhi Palace, by the Walmart
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)

Comments: I agree with Mel (below). Very nice Indian buffet. I'll try their biryani next!

Comments: I've been in some bad pseudo-Chinese restaurants in my travels, but this place, if not the worst, is very close to it! The embarrassing part is that I actually went there twice. I first ordered Moo Shu pork which at least had an adequate quantity of vegetables, though the vegetables were not the proper mu shu variety (day lillies, etc.). They were mostly shredded cabbage. Well, silly me, I tried again, thinking they should be able to do up chow mein correctly, if nothing else. What I got was a bowl full of plain soft noodles with a few small pieces of chicken and a few tiny shreds of shredded cabbage, accompanied by two fried dough things, and a mound of plain white rice. Basically just plain noodles and plain rice! Silliest excuse for chow mein I've ever seen!

Restaurant Name: Delhi Palace, Woodlands Village
Restaurant Rating: 9 (10 being the highest)

Comments: This is a find! Great food, very inexpensive lunch buffet, and every day the owner is present and glides gracefully from table to table to give a personal touch. We are really glad to have found it.

Restaurant Name: Hiro Sushi (S Plaza way. . .close to Safeway)
Restaurant Rating: 8 (10 being the highest)
Name: Chris
E-Mail: cantecleer_CW@hotmail.com
Comments: While my own experience with having Sushi is quite limited (though I have been to Sakura and Ah-So in the Mesa area), I would have to say this is the best value sushi place in Flagstaff. What's more, several Japanese exchange students studying at NAU that I'm friends with eat here, and find the food and staff quite okay. An even better indicator of Hiro's quality is the fact that it is normally quite packed (the few times I've been, eating at the sushi bar was almost mandatory due to limited seating and a constant supply of customers). All in all, if you enjoy sushi (or even just good, well prepared Japanese food) and you don't want to take out a new mortgage in order to eat at Sakura, this is nice alternative. It's not completely authentic (though the staff/cooks/etc. are almost all Japanese), but as far as Sushi/Japanese eats in Flag go. . . this is the happening place to be. Screw Sakura and its uppity atmosphere and expensive (though excellent) food. . . come here for some delectable treats and food that's good enough to attract people who've actually grown up eating Sushi and Japanese food their entire lives (my Japanese friends, of course). Don't forget to tell your server "arigatou" (pronounced "air-eh-got-toe") before leaving ^_^

One important note, on large orders (or with large parties), the staff tends to include the tip with the bill. . . just something to keep in mind.

Comments: This is by far the best Chinese restaurant in Flag if you want GREAT authentic tasting Chinese food. Yes, I agree that it could use some remodeling, but I go there for the food, not to sit and stare at the building. They even play Oriental music while dining and the owner is extremely cool and down to earth. The fried won tons are the greatest, they actually put large meat in them, unlike all the restaurants I've ever been to. Oh, and the Wor Won Ton soup, House Chow mein, and Moo Goo Gai Pan are out of this world. Hunan East has me driving to Flag from Phx. and that's REAL!!!

Comments: This is an absolutely wonderful Thai Restaurant. I just stumbled upon this restaurant one cold winter night. The food is wonderful and the owners and servers are very attentive and friendly. If I had a restaurant I would want it to be exactly like this.

Restaurant Name: Racha Thai
Restaurant Rating: 7 (10 being the highest)

Comments: Nice atmosphere, with a good selection of food. The Tom Yum soup had fresh ingredients, but was missing something; entrees were generally good, but also not outstanding.

Restaurant Name: DARA Thai Restaurant
Restaurant Rating: 10 (10 being the highest)
Name: Terry McKinney
E-Mail: terrymckinney@yahoo.com
Comments: I was in Flagstaff two tears ago and I visited the Dara Thai Restaurant for an evening meal. Having come from Northern Thailand where I live I found the food and the service to be excellent. The lady owner is also a most charming lady who originally came from Thailand. Top Class and I recommend to anyone who enjoys Thai food.

Restaurant Name: Monsoon on The Rim
Restaurant Rating: 10 (10 being the highest)

Comments: I am an employee of Monsoon on The Rim. I would very much like to clear up our name from a previous review. At our downtown location our food is great and very reasonably priced and fast to arrive at your table. Where else in Flagstaff can you get a freshly prepared meal that is on average ready in less than 5 minutes and a drink for less than $10. We invite all of you to come to the downtown location and see for your self the great food and service we provide.

Restaurant Name: Hunan West
Restaurant Rating: 2 (10 being the highest)

Comments: The worst service I have every received at ANY restaurant. The owner, a.k.a., dragon lady, was rude and after waiting 15 min. for a table, told us that we would have to move to another table for 4 because there was one extra chair available at our table. She wanted to maximize her revenues at our expense and when I said, "no, I don't feel comfortable picking up my plate and moving" she said "you Don't talk to me like that" and I got up and left. I have eaten at restaurants all over the world. Even in the 3rd world countries like Brazil, I received better service than I did at her restaurant. I also reported her to the Better Business Bureau and to the Flagstaff Chamber of Commerce. DO NOT EAT THERE!

Comments: I was unimpressed with this restaurant completely. It is setup much like a fast food restaurant where you order first at the counter, get your own drinks, and then sit down and they bring you the food. The cost, especially for lunch, was a bit much. The menu is limited and the prices don't change between lunch or dinner. For dinner, I might be willing to pay what I did, but not for lunch. The service was actually fairly quick, but really all they had to do was bring you the food. Then, the food was just "eh". I sampled a variety of their dishes. The Orange Beef was tough and not all that exciting spice-wise. The Pad Thai wasn't anything to write home about. And, the Fried Rice was decent (but how can you mess up rice too much). In all, I wasn't excited by my meal at all and it didn't sit well afterwards. I probably won't go again.

Comments: Simply Great! The food was amazingly good. From really delicious appetizers to great dishes to original and homepage ice cream, I completely enjoyed my meal. The dishes were of a good size, and the leftovers were just as good the day after. The service was also really good. And, the price was reasonable. I have absolutely no complaints about this place and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone seeking an excellent meal.

Restaurant Name: Hunan West
Restaurant Rating: 9 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: Probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. You always get a decent meal, the price is very reasonable, and the service is always good. They are locally owned and operated (by Rita and Oscar), and treat you that way. Their staff has been with them a long time and really know what they are doing. It says something to me when the staff seems to like their jobs and stays for a while. As to the food, the dishes are all good. I'm not saying they are amazing, but I've never had a bad meal. You always get a good size meal, and will probably have leftovers. I like their egg rolls too. The price is right where it should be and they have lots of specials. The atmosphere is average; they could use more space. In all, Hunan West is really good and I'd highly recommend it. I give them an 8 (almost a 9).

Restaurant Name: Hunan East on 4th St
Restaurant Rating: 6 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: A good restaurant. The food is very good. My favorite dish is Hunan Chicken. I've never had a bad meal there, and always feel satisfied when I'm done. The dishes are huge and you will always have leftovers. The service is fine. The down side is that the place is a little shabby. They really need to renovate the whole place. This could be a great restaurant, but it doesn't present itself that way. So, if you're looking for a good meal and don't care how it looks in the place, I'd recommend it.

Restaurant Name: Szechuan Restaurant on Milton Rd.
Restaurant Rating: 6 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: Szechuan is a pretty good place to get a Chinese meal. The food has always been good. It is a little richer than most places, and I think they use a bunch of oil and sugar. They also have a large buffet that is decent. It includes a bunch of dishes, salad bar, ice cream, and soup. They also have some kids stuff like pizza and fries on the buffet. The place is always clean and they have a lot of employees working there. The price is a little expensive and the decor is a little different (but trying to be classy). They do deliver, but it's a little haphazard. I would recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant Name: China Star Restaurant on Rt 66
Restaurant Rating: 1 (10 being the highest)
Name: Anonymous
E-Mail: Anonymous@flagstaffcentral.com
Comments: The China Star offers what is probably the largest buffet in town. They have lots and lots of dishes, ice cream, a salad bar, etc... Even though the food is usually okay, I wouldn't recommend this place. They have too much food out, so it sits a while. If you happen to come too late, say after the lunch rush is over, you are taking "a risk". I will say that if you ask them to refresh it, they will. The service is good. You can order dishes there as well, but I've never tried that. I've only had the buffet which is what they specialize in. In the end, I wouldn't recommend this place.
